Why does one country show several different times?
Large countries can span more than one time zone. Each country page lists every zone we track there, with the current local time in each, rather than picking one and applying it to the whole country.
Do these clocks account for daylight saving?
Yes. Every time here is worked out from the current rules for that zone, so a country that has just moved its clocks shows the new offset immediately, and the country page states when the next change is due.
What does an offset like UTC+05:30 mean?
It is how far ahead of or behind Coordinated Universal Time that zone runs. Not every offset is a whole hour: India is thirty minutes past, and a few places such as the Chatham Islands are forty-five.
How often do these times update?
The clocks tick live in your browser and the underlying offsets come from the standard time zone database, which is revised whenever a country changes its rules.
